About Us Sharq Sohar Steel Rolling Mills LLC established in 1995 , in technical collaboration with IDC Turkey , is the largest producer of new generation high strength ,Thermo Mechanically Treated (TMT ) reinforcement bars in Sultanate of Oman. Owned by a reputed business house and managed by a technically competent team, SSSRM is located in Sohar Industrial Estate of the Sultanate and has got an easy access to both Oman and UAE markets. Proximity to the Sohar port is an added advantage.
The production capacity is 300,000 MT per annum with a product mix of 8 mm to 32 mm high strength reinforcement bars confirming to BS , ASTM and SASO standards. The bars are conforming to the latest BS 4449:2005 standard (grade B500B). The products also have prestigious CARES certification by M/s UKAS , UK for the complete product range from 8 mm to 32 mm for both BS4449:2005 grade B500B and BS4449:1997 grade 460B. Sharq Sohar Steel Mill is accredited with ISO 9001:2008 certification for the entire unit including testing facilities. Over the years the Sohar Steel has established its strong presence in Sultanate of Oman , UAE and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The company also have a Fusion bonded Epoxy coating plant with a capacity of about 25,000 MT per annum to cater to the need of construction industry which look for coated rebars to prevent the rusting and corrosion. Another value added product is welded steel mesh produced in our Weld mesh plant. Both these units are working under M/s MECI, situated in Sohar Industrial estate. The latest addition is the SOHARSTEEL , a Steel Making Unit for producing continuous cast Steel billets situated at Sohar Port industrial area (SIPC)
